VSC Computer User Guide

Welcome to the user guide for the Virtual Soundcheck Computers at Biltmore Church!

DanteVirtual Soundcard and Dante Controller

Virtual Soundcard

  • When you arrive at your campus, open the Dante Virtual Soundcard app and press the Start button

Dante Controller

  • Next, open Dante Controller
Dante Controller should be kept open as often as possible. It keeps a log of device errors/updates/important info. This is helpful to keep track of any issues with the Dante network

  • Navigate to the "Events" tab

REW or Smaart SPL Meter

We recommend using the dB measurement weight A Slow (sometimes abbreviated as dB[A]S) at your campus. It is the most accurate representation of how human hearing works, and is the standard for live dB measurement

REW (Room EQ Wizard)

  • Open the REW application
  • Once open, open the SPL Meter and RTA

Smaart SPL

  • Open Smaart SPL and ensure the current configuration is recalled
  • There may be a calibration preset on your device. This should be named according to your campus, eg. “West Base”
  • Minimize the large window and ensure the mini dB meter window is open by going to the View window or by pressing E
  • In the mini window, you can also clear the “Max” SPL level by clicking on the circle next to the level

ProdCom

  • Open the ProdCom app
Once ProdCom has been set up, it will always default to the correct routing. If routing issues are present, contact the Central Production Team

  • You can put a channel in it's own window by double clicking on the channel name

LiveTrax

  • Refer to the  Virtual Soundcheck User Guide  for LiveTrax Setup
